Europe’s largest online specialist for indoor and outdoor lighting depends on the CVP Impack 3D packaging system from Sparck Technologies for shipping
Lampenwelt GmbH, located in Schlitz in the Hesse region of Germany, depends on the newly installed CVP Impack Automated Packaging Solution from Sparck Technologies (formerly Packaging by Quadient) in its warehouse to create 500 custom-fit packages per hour. The company, which is Europe’s largest online specialist for indoor and outdoor lighting, serves more than four million customers in 17 countries.
“Our company’s mission is to enhance people’s well-being. We strive to meet our customers’ needs while constantly reducing the environmental footprint of our products, their packaging and logistics. That is why we decided to implement a highly efficient and innovative packaging system from Sparck Technologies,” says Thomas Rebmann, founder and CEO of Lampenwelt GmbH.
Sustainable packaging
“Our CVP packaging solutions are sustainable and offer substantial cost-savings. With the customized boxes from a CVP Impack, up to 50 percent of the transport volume and up to 30 percent of the corrugated board consumption can be saved. Void-fill materials can usually be completely eliminated as well. We are very pleased to be able to support Lampenwelt GmbH, which has set itself ambitious goals for reducing its ecological footprint on its growth course. With this lighthouse project, Lampenwelt stands out in the industry,” emphasizes Richard Nijboer, director of sales and operations at Sparck Technologies.

Peak season
The benefits of using a CVP solution doesn’t stop at saving money and resources. In fact, the systems also allow customers to receive their orders on time during peak demand periods while avoiding capacity bottlenecks. To ensure that ordered goods reach customers as quickly as possible, they are placed on the CVP Impack conveyor belt, 3D scanned for their dimensions and then packed. The entire process takes just seven seconds. The system automatically cuts, fills, folds, glues, weighs and labels the transport packages. Even at peak times, two employees are sufficient to place single- or multi-item orders on the system’s conveyor belt.
