Europe’s largest online specialist for indoor and outdoor lighting relies on the CVP Impack 3D packaging system from Sparck Technologies for shipping
Lampenwelt GmbH from Schlitz in Hesse relies on the newly installed CVP Impack Automated Packaging Solution from Sparck Technologies (formerly Packaging by Quadient) in its warehouse to create 500 custom-fit packages per hour. The company, which is Europe’s largest online specialist for indoor and outdoor lighting, serves more than four million customers in 17 countries.
“The mission of our company is: Enhance People’s Wellbeing. We strive to meet our customers’ needs while constantly reducing the environmental footprint of our products, their packaging and logistics. That is why we decided to implement a highly efficient and innovative packaging system from Sparck Technologies,” says Thomas Rebmann, founder and CEO of Lampenwelt GmbH.
“Our CVP packaging solutions are sustainable and offer substantial cost-savings. With the customised cartons from a CVP Impack, up to 50 percent of the transport volume and up to 30 percent of the corrugated board consumption can be saved. Void-fill materials can usually be dispensed with altogether. We are very pleased to be able to accompany Lampenwelt GmbH, which has set itself ambitious goals for reducing its ecological footprint, on its growth course. With this lighthouse project, Lampenwelt stands out in the industry,” emphasises Richard Nijboer, Director Sales and Operations at Sparck Technologies.

The benefits of using a CVP solution don’t stop at saving money and resources. In fact, the systems also enable customers to be supplied on time during peak demand periods while avoiding capacity bottlenecks. To ensure that ordered goods reach customers as quickly as possible, they are placed on the CVP Impack conveyor belt, 3D scanned for their dimensions and then packed. The entire process takes just seven seconds. The system automatically cuts, fills, folds, glues, weighs and labels the transport packages. Even at peak times, two employees are sufficient to place single- or multi-item orders on the system’s conveyor belt.
In 20 years, Lampenwelt has developed into the largest and most successful online specialist for lights and lighting in Europe. The company is part of the LUQOM GROUP, Europe’s leading online specialist for lighting and smart home products. Lampenwelt offers its customers a range of more than 50,000 products from around 500 brands. To be prepared for future growth, Lampenwelt expanded its logistics centre with 3,500 square metres of warehouse space by 6,000 square metres in 2017. At that time, the company’s founders decided to integrate warehousing, packaging, shipping and returns processing into the company in order to be able to offer customer service from a single source.
