Sparck Technologies selected as Inbound Logistics Green Supply Chain Partner for 2020
The company is named a green supply chain management and logistics partner for its CVP Automated Packaging Solutions
Inbound Logistics, a news service offering information on logistics, supply chain, and transportation services and solutions, named Sparck Technologies a Green Supply Chain Partner for 2020.
Every year, Inbound Logistics selects 75 Green Supply Chain Partners that are leading the way in sustainability and green logistics initiatives. Each Green Supply Chain Partner is evaluated on four benchmarks: measurable green results, sustainability innovation, continuous improvement, and industry recognition.
Sparck Technologies was awarded this honor due to its CVP Automated Packaging Solutions, the CVP Impack and CVP Everest. These state-of-the-art auto-packing systems create fit-to-size boxes for each single- or multi-item order of either soft or hard goods while eliminating or reducing void-fill. For an even greener initiative, the CVP Everest uses a patented gluing system to affix a custom-fit lid. This is considered a reuse/recycling program as the corrugate can be 100% recycled and the boxes can be reused for returns or other items. Due to the right-sized boxes created from these solutions, shippers use an average of 30% less corrugate and experience a significant reduction in material costs. This also creates an average of 50% reduction in shipping volume, which allows more orders to fit onto delivery trucks, reducing greenhouse gas emissions with fewer trucks needed.
These solutions allow shippers to maximize their sustainability efforts by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, implementing reuse/recycling programs and using sustainable packaging. With more and more customers demanding retailers be more sustainable and eco-conscious, the CVP Automated Packaging Solutions are a win-win for everyone.
