We need to be able to detect if an object on a conveyor belt is a ‘hard’ object, for instance a shoebox, or a ‘soft’ object for instance plastic-wrapped clothes. We envision this could be achieved with computer vision and machine learning.
The assignment will be to assess the feasibility and if so, design, train and implement a working solution/demonstrator. The intern is free to select a machine learning platform, Our preference is that the trained model will be able to run in OpenCV and C++.
You will have the following responsibilities:
- Assess the feasibility
- Advise us in which machine learning framework to use
- Create/collect training data
- Deliver a working solution
You will be using the following tools and techniques:
